Fudge is one of those things it’s just hard to say no to during the holiday season. It can be really tough! The thing is, there is no way to make fudge without it being loaded with sugar, it’s just how fudge works – Right!

Not necessarily…
I’ve found two things that really help when it comes to fudge. Remove some of the calories by using reduced fat ingredients and add peppermint. The peppermint adds great flavour and makes it feel more “Christmasy” (Is there such a word?) and also makes it easier to slice into portions.
The mint flavour curbs your appetite so you can feel more satisfied after a small square or two.
Try this recipe and indulge yourself a little without piling on the calories.
Ingredients:
Peppermint Fudge Low Calorie Recipe
1 ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chunks (chips are good too)
2/3 cup low-fat condensed milk – sweetened (this is different from evaporated milk)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon peppermint extract
¼ teaspoon sea salt
Instructions:
1. Use a medium sized saucepan and add the chocolate and milk. Heat on medium-low until the chocolate is melted and everything is combined well.
2. Add the vanilla, peppermint, and sea salt.
3. Mix thoroughly.
4. Pour into an non-greased 8 x 8 pan.
5. Chill in the fridge for about three hours or until firm.
6. Cut into slices and serve.
