This excuse happens all the time: I’m too tired to work out. Besides the “I’ve no time to work out” excuse, “I’m too tired to work out” is the second most favored excuse that people resort to. Here’s the worst part: in many cases, it’s really true.

Dealing with the Too Tired to Work Out Excuse…

We lead hectic lives. Many people have demanding careers with stressful deadlines to meet. Stay-at-home moms are constantly busy with a hundred and one never-ending chores to complete. The list goes on and on.

By the time we finish the daily chores and demands, we’re tired, and the last thing we want to do is work out. That is why the best way to overcome this problem is to exercise before even starting your day.

Instead of making it the last thing to do, make it the first. Wake up, brush your teeth, and go work out. Even a 20-minute high-intensity session can have immense benefits. Now that you’ve gotten it out of the way, you will get by the rest of the day just fine without this weighing on your mind throughout the day.

If you work a late shift, the same rule applies. Get your workout done as soon as possible after waking. Sometimes, you may need to wake up a little earlier to complete the workout. It’s a struggle, but you must do it to lose weight and feel better.

If you can’t manage your workout early in the day, how about during your lunch break at work? Even a quick 15-minute interval training that involves sprinting back and forth will leave you panting and soaking with sweat. You’ll be in fat-burning mode for hours after just 15 minutes of training. You still have 45 minutes to shower, grab a bite, and return to work.

The key to coping with the “too tired” excuse is to get the workout in before you start your day or during the middle part of the day. Do not wait until the end of the day. We all wake up with a fixed amount of energy for the day. By the end of the day, your energy levels are low and almost depleted.

You do not have the energy to muster up your willpower. You make excuses and skip the workout sessions. Then you regret it deep in your heart because you’ve let yourself down. This situation will probably repeat itself the next day and the next… until you totally stop thinking about exercise.

To avoid this, your goal should be to get the workout over and done with as soon as possible. You hate it. Guess what? So do a lot of other people. Get it done ASAP; you do not have to think about it.

Make your workouts as convenient as possible. For example, if you only have time to work out after work, make sure your gym is close to your workplace so that you can quickly get there and work out before going home. You must make it as easy as possible for you to work out.

The majority of people are not too keen on exercise. Even those who have been doing it for years may skip a session if you give them a chance. So, be mindful of this, focus on consistency, and never miss your workouts.

Those times when you do not have the motivation to train are the most critical times that you do. If you let one workout slide, you can bet that skipping another will become easier. Sooner or later, you’ll not be training anymore, and your weight will slide uncontrollably, too. It all starts with one skipped workout. Bear that in mind at all times.
